Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) is found in most foaming products, including shower gels, shampoos, kitchen cleaners and even engine degreasers. This chemical can cause skin and eye irritation, and when combined with other ingredients is a potent carcinogen.
Liquidum Paraffinum is an exotic name for mineral oil, a cheap petroleum by-product that coats the skin like plastic, clogging the pores, slowing down skin function and resulting in premature aging and other disorders. Used in many products (including baby oil) petrolatum can be contaminated with cancer causing hydrocarbons.
Parabens are chemicals used to inhibit the growth of bacteria and extend the shelf life of products containing high quantities of water (aqua). They are widely used even though they cause many allergic reactions, and are also known to disrupt hormone function. Recent research has shown high levels of parabens to be found in cancerous breast tissue.
