Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release (MFR) is a collection of soft-tissue techniques used to release fascia (or connective tissue) which has become stuck, hardened and dehydrated. Fascia is a tough three-dimensional membrane of varying thickness which envelops and separates every structure in the body, from whole muscle groups and bones down to each individual cell, providing support, structure and protection. Because fascia is entirely continuous throughout the body, a restriction in one part will affect every other part. Fascial restrictions occur in response to physical injury or emotional trauma, and will often lead to undiagnosed, non-specific pain, tiredness and a depressed immune system.
Myofascial restrictions play a particularly key role in pain syndromes. Fascia which is restricted can be extremely painful itself, and can cause surrounding fascia to harden protectively. The structures around restricted fascia cannot move without friction, compounding the problem. Continuous overload of an area can then lead to compensatory restriction in other areas, leading to total fascial restriction in which movement is almost impossible without extreme pain. This will not show up in any orthodox medical tests.
MFR is unparalleled in its ability to provide profound relief from pain and fatigue arising from physical and other trauma, including chronic on-going pain, sports injuries, scar tissue restrictions, repetitive strain injuries, stress-related muscular tension, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, emotional trauma and many others. 1 hour : £37.50
