Stress manifests itself in very individual ways depending on the stressors present. Symptoms can range from interrupted sleeping or digestive system disorders, right through to severe panic attacks and chest pain. Stress can no longer be put down to ‘mind over matter’ – it has been shown to have serious physical, emotional and psychological effects on the sufferer.
Real Retreat uses an ethical and proven stress management programme developed by a GP and a psychologist through government funded research in Scotland. The programme is run over five or six sessions, (depending on the stressors present), providing the sufferer with new or enhanced practical coping techniques and advice on issues such as relaxation, improved breathing, coping with panic attacks, nutrition for combating stress, beating sleeping problems and improving assertiveness, amongst others. The client can then choose to put into practice those tools and techniques which they find most useful.
Each session costs £40.
